A host of local talent will come together on Sunday for the inaugural Christmas in July charity concert at Cessnock Supporters Club.
The extravaganza will feature leading country music singers Rob Wilson and Tara Naysmith, along with Sarah Lewis, Elizabeth Namisnyk, Johnny Bond, the 70-voice Cessnock Community of Great Public Schools choir, dancers from Shann Simpson’s Dance Company and Emex Sport Aerobics.
The concert will run from 2pm to 5pm with doors opening about 1pm. The cost is $5 adults and $2 children and tickets will be available at the door.
The concert will raise money for charities supported by Cessnock Wine Country Rotary Club including the Children’s Medical Research Institute.
A club spokesman said funds are raised for a number of local organisations including the Hunter Special Olympics as well as making presentations of local school for citizenship awards.
A raffle will be conducted at the interval. The supporters club’s café and half-time bistro will be open for concert-goers to enjoy lunch beforehand.
The concert is being coordinated by Margaret Albury and Tara Naysmith.
