Following a month of accolades Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley Resort received the jewel in the crown, taking out the award for Best Superior Hotel in Australia at the 2008 Australian Hotels Association National Awards.
Celebrating excellence in the hotel industry the award for Best Superior Hotel recognises the high standards Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley Resort has set in accommodation, dining, meeting facilities and customer service.
August was a month of honours for the resort; it won the award for Tourism Marketing at the Hightrade Hunter Tourism Awards, recognised for its efforts to promote the Hunter region and Wine Country to potential visitors. The resort’s main restaurant, redsalt also took home the Tourism Restaurants and Catering Services award at the fiercely contested annual event.
These awards immediately followed recognition as the best Environmental Hotel in Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific from the 2008 HM Awards for Hotel and Accommodation Excellence, based on the Resort’s extraordinary contributions to the Hunter community.
Earlier in the month, Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley Resort received the Hunter Business Chamber Award for Best Customer Service for its focus on attention to detail and effective communication as its basis for quality customer service.
“The award from the AHA is the icing on the cake for the resort, to be recognised locally, nationally and in the South Pacific region is an incredible achievement, “ said General Manager Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley Resort, Neil Houghton who is soon to be General Manager InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort and Spa.
“Credit must go to the extremely dedicated and passionate team at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley Resort, without them we would not be able to set and maintain the high industry standards that we have been awarded for time and time again,” he said.
The Australian Hotels Association awards were made at a function at Star City Hotel and Casino on August 28.
