The curtain will come down on one of the city’s longest running industries on December 18 when the Bonds Wear Cessnock clothing factory closes.
The remaining 76 workers have received formal notification of the closure that was flagged back in February.
The company, Pacific Brands, has been helping workers with re-training programs during the months leading up to the closure.
The then 83 staff members were informed of their pending job losses on Wednesday, February 25.
They were among the 1850 jobs Pacific Brands will shed when manufacturing goes offshore.
The factory had been a major employer of mostly women for more than 50 years.
