Big plans are in place the 16th Annual Reg Lindsay Wine Country Rodeo and Music Reunion to be held at the Cessnock Showground on Saturday, March 13.
The day features great rodeo action from 3pm with stock supplied by Terry Marshall, Nakadoo Rodeo Company from Coonamble and a new addition with Frank Biddle and his team of top bucking bulls making the long haul down from Warwick to be a part of this prestigious event.
Australia’s top cowboys and cowgirls will make their way to the Hunter Valley to contest at one of the main events on the rodeo calendar chasing points for end of year champions.
The Howard and Queenie Winfield Memorial Open Bull ride is the feature event with more than $1000 in prizemoney plus a gold and silver trophy buckle to be awarded to the highest scoring ride.
Cessnock District Agricultural Association President, Darren Witherspoon and rodeo organiser Roslyn Lindsay are looking forward to a great day of rodeo action and the Reg Lindsay and friends music reunion drawing large numbers of people to the Cessnock district to enjoy the festivities.
“Reg always wanted to have a rodeo music reunion showcasing many of the people he had worked with throughout his illustrious career teaming up with his other passions rodeo and horses,” Ros said.
She said the idea has worked and this will be the 16th time this exciting event has graced the Cessnock Showground.
Craig Morrison Little Cowboys will feature in the Music Reunion with guest artistes invited to attend to make each year a special Remembering Reg concert. This year will see the legendary Lucky Starr performing on centre stage.
A great family day is planned with market stalls, carnival rides and the mechanical bull ride .
