Keg challenge bowls day for Westpac Helicopter

21 Oct, 2009 09:28 AM
The Tooheys Keg Challenge, one of the city’s biggest charity fundraising events, is on again on this year on Sunday, November 1.

In what will be its 10th year, the event has raised vital funds for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service estimated to be more than $70,000.

The event, previously held at Cessnock City Bowling Club, has a new home this year, East Cessnock Bowling Club.

The game is for teams of four and the winners take home a keg of beer they can enjoy when it suits.

The cost is $75 per team and this includes green fees and a barbecue lunch. Other activities on the day include a charity auction and raffles with more than 100 prizes.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Cessnock Support Group organizes the day and is urging people to form a team and support the event.

Teams can be booked in by phoning 4990 2725.
