Cr. Pynsent was elected with the overwhelming support of Labor members at a pre-selection ballot held on Saturday, February 18.
Cr. Pynsent said he was humbled to receive the support of Labor members and was ready to get straight into the campaign to “Get Cessnock Moving Again”.
“This council has not even delivered one major project and in my view that’s just not good enough,” Cr. Pynsent said.
“Cessnock has an opportunity for growth and council should be supporting job creating projects not holding them back.”
Labor also announced a mix of new and old faces that will make up its team for the election.
The Labor candidates are:
A Ward: James Hawkins, Damien Wallace and Laura Hawkins.
B Ward: Bob Pynsent, Morgan Campbell and Mark Lyons.
C Ward: Jeff Maybury, Catherine Parsons and Brian Lea.
D Ward: Graham Smith, Ron Besoff and Darrin Gray.
