Paxton third grade opening batsman Adam Bice became the fifth association player this season to notch up a ton to set up victory against Supporters Club at Millfield.
The 29-year-old blasted six boundaries and cleared the rope on nine occasions on his way to 103.
Bellbird has opened up a handy 10-point lead in the first grade competition and remains the only side to have won all games after four rounds. This comes on the back of a hard fought 24-run victory over the much improved Wentworth Hotel at Allandale on the weekend.
The visitors won the toss and batted first, compiling a competitive eight for 169 from their mandatory 40 overs. Opener Rob Clark continued his recent good form with the bat, top scoring with 57. The rest of the top and middle order failed miserably, however all-rounders Scott Miller (28) and Pat Cagney (38 not out) steadied the ship for the Tigers and they were able to reach a defendable target. For the Wood Ducks Scott Anderson (3-48 off 10), Darren Sutton (2-23 off 10) and Nathan Wright (2-55 off 10) took wickets.
In reply the home side made a fair fist of the run chase, eventually running out of overs finishing with eight for 145. Dave McCarty blasted 43 before his running between the wickets let him down, with Mark Anderson and skipper Matt Radnidge scoring 26 apiece to keep Wentworth in the game. Miller completed an excellent all-round game for Bellbird with 3-32 off 10, with left arm seamer Ben Bradley chipping in with 2-31 off eight.
Mulbring were too good for Supporters Club in their five wicket victory at Baddeley Park.
Supporters won the toss and made first use of the favourable batting conditions. Tidy bowling and fielding restricted the home side to 7/147 from their 40 overs, with Michael Gates leading the way with 34. Andrew Nicolai (28), Nathan Stapleford (20), Anthony Lindner (17 no) and Beau Cowley (16 no) all made runs for the home side, while Nigel Callan (4-34 off 10) and Josh Lewis (2-23 off 8) were the main wicket takers for the Mulbring.
In pursuit of the modest target, the Marlins cruised to victory in the 34th over, with Josh Lewis capping an excellent all-round match with an unbeaten 48. He was well supported by the hard hitting Greg Sheehan (40), Chad Lewis (17) and Adam Sheehan (16).
Greta/Branxton’s woes continued as they were easily beaten by Railway Hotel at East End.
Batting first the Blues struggled, and were eventually all out in the 37th over for 110. Brent Dries led the way with a solid 40, skipper Danny Davey (23) and Ian Shearer (15) offered support, with the rest of the Greta/Branxton batting scorecard nothing short of abysmal. Alan Heath (3-23 off 8.3), skipper Troy Culley (3-25 off 7) and Dave Seers (3-17 off 10) all bowled outstandingly for the Eagles.
The home side past the target in the 24th over, with Andrew Robinson caressing an unbeaten 50. Opening partner Beau Lewis made 36, with Culley completing the formality with 21.
Kurri had the bye.
