Court’s In Session, the former crack galloper known affectionately as “The People’s Horse” will be paraded prior to the Jungle Juice Cup next Tuesday.
Court’s in Session, the winner of $1.4 million stakes money is now living out a peaceful retirement at his owner Peter Cruickshank’s property near Wollombi.
The free running gelding won 14 races and was placed eight times from 31 starts before suffering a severely ruptured suspensory on his off side foreleg that almost ended his life late 2006.
His illustrious career took in a Hawkesbury Cup, two Expressways and the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes at Rosehill.
The Bureaucracy-Markatie Court gelding started racing with Ballina Mentor Bill Pholi and won seven races from 14 starts. He was then given his chance in Sydney under the care of Guy Walter who elevated him to another level with group one wins and placings.
