The main game will kick off at around 6.10pm, preceded by six other games featuring the Knights Chargers Youth Squad, Canterbury Bulldogs Under-15 and Under-17s plus teams from the Hunter and Northern academies who will play in a round robin type contest due to kick off at 2pm.

The National Youth Cup fields players under the age of 20 and consists of teams from all the NRL clubs. This weekend’s games will be a trial game for the Knights and the Bulldogs and should feature some great football. The game will be played in four quarters of 25 minutes and will kick off at 6.10pm.

Catering facilities will be in operation and will be run by the Cessnock Football Club but no alcohol will be sold or allowed into the ground due to the age of the various team players.

Cessnock Rugby League Club President, Kane Bradley, has announced that the Knights will also be using the Cessnock Sports Ground for their Harold Matthews and SG Ball home games for the 2010 season with games on February 13 and 20 and March 6.

“Cessnock Sports Ground is starting to get the recognition it deserves, with the local club receiving many hits on its website and visits from other clubs to inspect the facilities,” Mr. Bradley said.

“The sports ground is now being used constantly between February and September, eight months in total and that is just for football,” he added.
