Mark Hale prevailed for the 15th time to win Branxton Golf Club’s A-grade Club Championship in a titanic struggle with third round leader Mick Tracey on Sunday.

Mark played exceptional golf to win by three shots after an excellent 69 from his plus-three handicap.
Mick tried hard throughout the day recording a pleasing 75 from his five handicap, however Mark’s overall class proved too hard to handle in the end.
This was Mark’s 13th Club Championship in the last 15 years, a record that defies belief.
Local Branxton schoolteacher, Tom Foster, won the B-grade club championship in dynamic style, after having an outstanding 78 in the last round to win by 17 shots.
After starting with a disturbing seven on the first hole, he played the next 17 holes only five over which proved far too hard for his rivals.
C-grade was won by Martin Lloyd, a three-shot victor over Brad Bridge despite a disappointing final round.
Martin’s previous rounds included an 86 and 88, wonderful scores in C-grade.
The junior championship went to Joshua Tracey, a three-shot victor over local primary school star, Corey Lamb, who had a career-best 76 in the last round.
Both boys are single figure handicappers and have a great future in golf.
Colin Wood won the Seniors Championship, and the Mug of Mugs capping off a great day after finishing the winner in the A-grade net as well.
The other net winners were Rod Moylan in B-grade and D. Rogers in C-grade.
