There will be food galore, music, art, skateboarding, coffee making, dancing, movies, circus skills and more.
There are cooking competitions, photography exhibitions and skating comps where awesome prizes can be won.
There are also big breakfasts being held at Cessnock, Mount View and Kurri high schools and free movie and pizza nights throughout the week.
The last day of Youth Week (Sunday, April 13) will feature Youth Fest; a free action packed youth festival at Cessnock Skate Park, showcasing live bands, scooter, bike and skateboard demonstrations and competitions.
Cessnock City Council received $1537.50 in funding from the NSW Government to help prepare for Youth Week celebrations.
“Youth Week is the largest annual youth participation event in Australia and we want all young people in NSW to be part of it,” The Nationals Duty MLC for Cessnock, Trevor Khan said.
“It’s an opportunity for Cessnock to celebrate young people’s achievements, aspirations and ability to be leaders in our community.”
Programs are available at Cessnock Youth Centre and Outreach Service (CYCOS) and the Cessnock City Council foyer or online.
