About 30 women from all over Australia will arrive next Wednesday for the quest, which will culminate in a glamorous gala presentation on Saturday night (April 12).
Weston woman Amanda Barrass is contesting the Mrs. Australia section (for married women aged 25 to 50).
Amanda was inspired by her mother Carol Lanesbury, who won the Mrs. Classic Australia title last year.
The MAQuest promotes awareness of ovarian cancer, which Carol battled eight years ago.
Amanda has been busy holding several teal-themed fundraising events during her campaign (teal is the signature colour of ovarian cancer awareness).
She would like to thank everyone who has supported her along the way, including the Mineworkers Trust for their $5000 donation, and her major sponsor East Cessnock Bowling Club.
Entrants have to raise a minimum of $500 and also have to meet judging criteria, while the public can also vote online.
The entrants will be officially welcomed to town by Cessnock Mayor Bob Pynsent next Wednesday; will enjoy a tour of the vineyards on Thursday followed by their talent quest at East Cessnock Bowling Club that night, and will undergo interviews at the club on the Friday.
The winners in six categories will be crowned at the club on the Saturday night.
The public are welcome to attend the crowning ball, which is set to be an evening of celebration, glamour and dancing.
East Cessnock Bowling Club CEO Marlene Hartog said it was an amazing opportunity for the club to host a gala event such as this, and encourages the local community to come along and enjoy the night.
The night will include a three-course meal and entertainment by Get Soaked, Wayne Rogers and MC Marty Wooster plus much more, including a raffle and silent auction.
Tickets are available at stickytickets.com.au (search MAQ National Crowning).
