Thompson partnered Blue Garter to a win at Scone last Friday to take his total to 3992.
Blue Garter, trained at Cessnock by Todd Howlett, was having start number nine and had registered several placings leading up to taking out the maiden plate over 1300 metres.
Robert Thompson, eight wins to 4000.
Thompson could have had another winner but for a long head defeat in the first of the day on Star Thriller.
