Police and rescue personnel have recovered the body’s 35-year-old Phillip Grant from Metford and 49-year-old Jamie Mitchell of Aberdare from Paxton’s Austar coal mine.

The two miners were killed on Tuesday after a wall collapse at the mine located on Middle Road.
Mr. Mitchell’s body was recovered from the site at approximately 8am on Thursday and Mr. Grants at 4.50pm.

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
