As the iconic motorcar brand celebrates its 110-year anniversary, the Rolls-Royce Owners Club of Australia came to the Hunter for the first time for their 56th annual federal rally.
The club comprises of six branches nationally, with over 1000 members and a whopping 1200 Rolls-Royce motor cars.
Based at Cypress Lakes Resort, the cars toured all over the Hunter area last week, and on Saturday were on display at Hunter Valley Gardens.
Club president Kim Stapleton said that this year’s rally has been three years in the making and that the Hunter wine region has certainly lived up to its iconic reputation.
“Every year the rally is held in a different state and we looked at a number of destinations before settling on the Hunter,” he said.
“It is really important to find a place where we can all be based together and it is such a beautiful area – perfect for touring around with the roof down.”
Club members travelled from all over Australia to take part in the rally, with some visitors even from the UK and America.
The iconic cars include a 1910 Silver Ghost and a 1963 Phantom Five as well as a selection of new cars from Trivett Bespoke including a Rolls-Royce Phantom, Ghost and the latest Wraith and Bentleys.
Mr. Stapleton said that the club brings together people with a love of vintage cars and that a lot of hard work and dedication goes into making the rally a success.
“This club is just an amazing group of people,” he said.
“Anything involving older cars takes works and there is no shortage of kilometres travelled.
“I have seen far more of this country than I would have ever seen if it wasn’t for this club.”
The club also raised funds for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service at Saturday’s display.
