The local contingent includes 2013 world champion and Cessnock City Sportsperson of the Year Gerard Miles, Megan Weir, Grant Elsley, Blaine Scarr, Tracey Scarr, Isaac Scarr, Callum Scarr and Josh Radoll.
Their first stop is at Cullman, Alabama in an Archery Shooters Association (ASA) tournament. At the four-day competition Cessnock archers will have the opportunity to shoot in a Pro/Am group where they have the chance to compete with the top American professionals.
They then travel north to Ellicottville, New York to participate in the International Bowhunting Organisation (IBO) World Titles for another four busy days of shooting.
It was at the IBO World Titles last year that Gerard Miles won his division, the Male Bowhunter Open title.
