As usual the Hawks never gave up and played the full 80 minutes with the same gutsy, never-say-die attitude they have played with all season.
Hinton scored early after some miscommunication and lapse in defence by the Hawks.
Abermain hit back a short while after with Tim Fitzpatrick going over the try line out wide and converting his own try to take the score line to 6-all, which remained the score until half-time.
After the break the Hawks came out and continued their gutsy efforts with Andrew Brien scoring out wide. The conversion was unsuccessful in windy conditions.
Player’s player went to Tim Fitzpatrick, best on ground was Hayden Gillon and the coach’s award went to Nathan Robertson.
The day was also a fundraising event by the Hawks in aid of the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation and they wore pink jerseys and socks specially designed for the event.
The club would like to thank all the sponsors who generously made donations for the jerseys to be made and also their interest in either retaining the jersey or allowing them to be auctioned at the Hotel Denman after the game.
Events at the Hotel Denman after the game included the auctioning of the beards that some of the players had dyed pink to be shaved (and some players auctioned the shaving of their heads).

The final efforts of the fundraising event will be reported at a later date.
The Hawks would like to send out a big thank you to all their loyal supporters for the efforts to encourage them on the day and at the hotel afterwards.
Abermain travel away twice over the next three weeks with a spare weekend on August 2 set down for washout games.
They play Karuah this Saturday and travel to Gloucester on August 9. They return home to play Kotara on August 16 in the final round, so all fans are encouraged to come along.
