South Wallsend was the first to score just a few minutes in, but then Kurri put a few passes together to open South up.
Kerrie McLennan put a ball through for Jess Axisa to score the first of her four goals for the game – after scoring five times in reserve grade the week before.
Kelsey Miller took a great free kick for Axisa to score her second, and the third quickly followed; then Axisa passed a great ball for Holly Wilcox to score.
South Wallsend scored again to make the half-time score 4-2.
In the second half Kurri missed a few chances, hitting the cross-bar and going close time after time.
Simone Kounnas put a good ball through for Axisa to score her fourth goal.
South Wallsend never gave up but it was Kurri’s best game all year.
Axisa won the Kurri Video Ezy Award while the Kookaburra Brasserie and Grill award went to Sarah Burrough.
Toni Payne and McLennan also had good games as did Kounnas, Abby Kortge, Belinda Wells, Kristen Roach and Paige Maybury, who played both first and reserve grade.
“The club has got a good future with the young girls coming through,” club president David Brooks said.
The reserve grade side had a 4-1 win over South Wallsend, displaying one of their best passing games of the season.
The girls played with 100 per cent effort and after a momentary lapse of concentration, came off at half-time up 2-1.
Two corners in the second half proved the difference.
It was a great team effort that helped them warm up for the semi-finals in two weeks’ time.
Wilcox was named coach’s player and Wells won the Video award.
