The singer-songwriter’s career continues to go from strength to strength with the announcement that the 22-year-old will support The Eagles at their Hope Estate and Hanging Rock shows in early 2015.
The announcement follows the successful national theatre tour she just wrapped up with New Zealand artist Marlon Williams, along with the critical acclaim she received for her debut album ‘The Hurting Scene’ released late last year.
The whirlwind of success all started when Melody took out the songwriter category at last year’s Telstra Road to Discovery competition.
She then went on to release The Hurting Scene and was signed to Liberation Records soon after.
Telstra Road to Discovery is a talent development program dedicated to providing aspiring Australian musicians with a guided pathway into the music industry.
Since 2003, Telstra Road to Discovery has given budding artists the opportunity to develop their craft through mentoring sessions, advice and support from leading music industry professionals.
The program will travel to each state with the NSW heats being held at the Strathfield Spring Festival in Sydney on September 7 and at Narooma’s Great Southern Blues Festival on October 5.
Musicians will have the chance to win a $15,000 music development fund and a trip to the United States to perform at the Americana Music Festival.
