A gross vehicle mass (GVM) load limit of five tonnes now applies, down from the 10-tonne limit that was introduced in July.
The load limit was imposed due to the impact of increased traffic on Frame Drive (after the opening of the Hunter Expressway) and the condition of the bridge.
Signage has been installed directly at the bridge site and also at various intersections in the immediate area to inform motorists of the load limit and to advise of suitable alternate routes.
