The win sets up another clash with the Newcastle Jets Youth team at home on Sunday, and with the victor of that game to have the following weekend off and play in the decider on Sunday, September 14.
The Bears scored their first goal in the 15th minute of play after good build up work by Jason Cowburn and Connor Evans. Jye Mackeller drove into the box and had one touch before he struck the ball into the net.
On the half-hour mark Cowburn beat the offside trap and raced 30 yards to goal, drawing Jaffas keeper Danny Ireland.
Cowburn then sent Ireland the wrong way and calmly placed the ball into the other corner making it 2-0.
The Bears bombed two further chances, which if taken would have killed off the tie.
Garry McDermott made it 3-0 after 57 minutes, which should have been the end of the contest.
However goals to Jobe Wheelhouse (62nd minute) and John Majurovski (68th minute) soon turned that around and it was game on at 3-2.
Bears coach Steven Piggott had brought Mackeller in for Rob Macbeth, who went to the bench whilst Robbie Turnbull was out injured and Jamie Subat suspended.
Michael Ryan also came into the starting 11, his first start for some time and he worked very hard.
Liam Thornton was replaced after pulling up short after 26 minutes and Macbeth got his opportunity.
The game had nearly five minutes of injury time after Luke Remington from the Jaffas was stretchered off.
In the end the Bears’ courage got them over the line and a meeting at home this Sunday against the Jets.
Kick off will be at 3pm and the club is again expecting a decent crowd.
Weston’s under-19s won their elimination semi-final 3-1 with goals to Lachlan Doyle (a brace) and Brad Millar.
They will play Hamilton Olympic at Arthur Edden Oval on Saturday at 11am in another sudden-death affair.
The Bears hosted the NPL Youth semi-finals on Saturday with their own under-15s playing.
After going to the sheds at 0-0 they were behind 1-0 early in the second half, which really tested the youngsters. James Thompson converted two penalties and Zac Skippen got one from a corner to wrap up a 3-1 win.
They will play in the grand final at Darling Street Oval on Saturday at 3pm, which allows everyone to watch the under-19s and then go to the under-15s.
