Alecia was announced the winner of the Miss Country Girl preliminary final, held at Toukley the weekend of August 30 and 31.
Beating out 30 other girls, the 18-year old earned her first tiara when she was crowned the winner and will now progress to the national final to be held early next year.
Country Girl Australia is a national search focused in regional areas across Australia and is designed to help build self-confidence in all of the contestants and help launch professional modelling careers.
The weekend before the Country Girl competition, Alecia also took part in the Miss Tourism International state final held at Caves Beach, where she was named one of 10 girls to progress through to the national final in November.
If successful in this pageant, Alecia could have the opportunity to travel to Kuala Lumpur for the world final in January.
Alecia, who was also runner-up in last year’s Miss Cessnock City competition, is currently completing her HSC at St Mary’s in Maitland and said that she hopes to become a professional dancer when she finishes school.
Country Girl Australia hopes to visit the region again later this year and the organisers are calling local for girls to enter online at www.misscountrygirlaustralia.com.au.
