Now the 17-year-old has hit the big time after being selected for the School Sports Australia girls’ football team to tour the United Kingdom and Ireland in January.
House made the cut after impressing selectors at Combined High School (CHS) championships held in Armidale in May, where she captained the Hunter team.
She was then named on the CHS 1 squad that competed at the NSW All Schools girls’ football championships in June, where she was then selected to compete at the national championships in August.
Here, the NSW team went undefeated taking out the national title and for House, a spot on the coveted Australian team.
A student at Hunter Sports High School, House said that the selection was a dream come true and she was very excited at the prospect of heading overseas for the first time.
“This is something that I have always wanted to do,” she said.
“I am definitely excited and I hope it will be a good experience.”
House has been kicking a soccer ball since she was six and currently plays with the Emerging Jets, who also recently took out the 2014 Herald Women’s Premier League.
This win came just two days after she was named on the Australian side, capping off what has been a very big few months for the aspiring talent.
The January tour will involve training camps and a number of tournaments against local teams throughout the UK and Ireland, as well as opportunities to earn scholarships and international contracts.
