The elimination quarter-final loss on home soil was a disappointing end but the players certainly gave it their all.
Coach Steven Piggott, who parted ways with the club after the loss, made five changes from grand final side.
Tim Pratt, Robbie Turnbull, Jamie Subat, Zac Sneddon and Brock Oakley were benched or unavailable, while James Wand, Jye Mackellar, Nick Thompson, Jake Millsteed and Rob Macbeth got their opportunity to impress.
Palm Beach had the upper hand in the opening 20 minutes and missed two easy chances.
Carl Thornton gave the Bears a 1-0 lead in the 39th minute with his header from a Nathan Morris cross.
Weston took the lead to the break and had fought their way back into the contest through hard work.
Millsteed appeared to be up-ended in the 53rd minute of play but the Bears did not receive a penalty.
Four minutes later Palm Beach received a penalty with Chris Lucas successful to make it 1-1.
Weston had a Mackellar shot cleared off the line with eight minutes remaining.
Palm Beach scored with six minutes left via Jarrod Kyle which saw them advance to this weekend against Bonnyrigg White Eagles.
Bears football manager Shane Johnson said the club will make a decision this week about next year’s coaching staff.
