Works have included painting of entry foyers, facades, picnic shelters, worms and mushrooms in the toddler pools, repairs to concourse expansion joints, replacement of the pergola roof at Cessnock Pool, repairs to plant room roof at Branxton Pool and repairs to stainless steel railings and strainer baskets.
“Quite a lot of work has been carried out in recent weeks, which is vital to the ongoing life of our pools and the safety of our patrons,” Cessnock City Council’s recreation manager Nicole Benson said.
“Renewal works are prioritised based on recommendations from a condition assessment report to address safety and general asset condition concerns.”
Cessnock opened for lap swimming on Monday and is open to lap swimmers only 6am to 5pm until Friday.
From Saturday, both pools will be open to the public seven days a week from 6am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and 7am to 6pm on weekends and public holidays.
Passes are available to purchase from council’s administration centre at 62-78 Vincent Street, Cessnock. For more information, visit www.cessnock.nsw.gov.au.
