Held at Cessnock TAFE Park on Thursday, the event combined the annual Cessnock Community Connect day with Cessnock TAFE’s Cultural Day and was focused on connecting people with services that assist them to engage with education, health services, training and employment.
Chairperson Barry Miller said that the committee will be hoping to bring the event back even bigger in 2015.
“The day was a great success,” he said.
“There were 26 free birth certificate applications taken on the day.
“The feedback we received is that people connected with services, that they had a great time and there was a great feeling of community and that they really enjoyed the entertainment and food.
“We would like to see more people attend next year and the committee will be meeting to discuss how we can achieve this.”
Mr. Miller thanked The Rotary Club of Cessnock, Hunter TAFE, Active Hire, Cessnock City Council, Castle Personnel and Samaritans for supporting the event.
