The Bulldogs annual presentation was held on Saturday night at Kurri Bowling Club, with a crowd of over 120 guests and sponsors.
Wyborn played his usual outstanding football at both five-eighth and hooker and led the pointscore most of the way throughout the season to hold off Simon Craig and Hayden Jeans to win the award.
On the recruitment front, the Bulldogs have signed Terence Seu Seu in a return to his junior club where he made his first grade debut back in 2003 alongside his father Marty Lisiua.
Seu Seu played for Maitland and Cessnock in the past two seasons, after playing 51 games in the National Rugby League with Newcastle, Cronulla and Manly.
The Bulldogs have also signed Brock Gilmore (front rower from the Helensburgh grand final side in the Wollongong competition), Brad Manton (centre/fullback from Mascot club in Sydney) and Luke Mercer, who returns after a three-year absence from coaching East Maitland.
Most of this year’s side – including injured players Daniel Abraham, Damien Walters, Ben Wyborn Mitch Cullen, Jay Stevens and Simon Craig have re-signed, while Brendan Worth will train the pre-season to test his recovery from his shoulder injury and depending on results will decide after that.
