Friday night family tennis sessions will commence at Kurri this week, with club members hoping to reinvigorate the local community’s interest in the sport.

Past president Col Andrews has been part of the club since the 1970s and said that is has a long and proud history with the Kurri community.
“We used to have 80 kids turn up for one session,” he said.
“It might just be a sign of the time but we want to get back to its glory days.”
The Friday night sessions are designed for people of all ages and skill sessions, with families welcome.
Organiser Paul Campbell said that a lot of work has been put into the courts and that they would like to see some “new blood” join the club.
“It is a great facility here and we want to the local community to make the most of it,” he said.
“The club has died in recent years and we are trying very hard to bring it back to life.”
The Friday night family sessions will commence at 6.30pm, with a cost of $4 per person.
