A second-year apprentice at Cessnock City Motor Group, Aaron travelled to Mount Panorama on October 10 and spent three days working around the clock to make sure the cars were in tip-top shape.
Joining the crew for Nissan Motorsport Norton Hornets racer James Moffat, Aaron said it was one of the best experiences of his life especially when Moffat made it over the finish line in second place.
“It was the best feeling ever,” he said.
“It was definitely a really full-on weekend, but all the guys were really nice and took me under their wing.
“I definitely learned a lot, it was a great experience.”
At only 19-years-old, Aaron was one of the youngest members of the Nissan pit crew.
He was joined by fellow second-year apprentice Brayden Smith from Maitland, with the duo handpicked by Nissan based on their impressive results at TAFE.
Aaron said that he hopes the experience will open a number of doors for him and he is looking forward to completing his trade qualifications.
