Held at Stonehurst Cedar Creek Vineyard, the opening was carried out by Wollombi local and Destination NSW chairperson John Hartigan and attended by many of the exhibiting artists.
The free festival remains open at Wollombi Village Wines, Stonehurst Cedar Creek, Wollombi Wines and Undercliff Winery until November 29.
Nearby, a large crowd also braved the heat on Saturday for the Wollombi Woodchop, held at Wollombi Tavern.
The village will be a hive of activity again this weekend for the annual Wollombi Small Farms Fair, with a lantern parade, Mower Mardi Gras, petting zoo and more.
