The centre offers professional club fitting and coaching using the latest Flight Scope and Swing Catalyst computer software – something that professional golfer Leigh Newman said had revolutionised the sport.
“A lot of golf coaching these days is more technical,” he said.
“This technology is really allowing us to keep up with some of the bigger Sydney-based centres.”
The Kurri centre also has the advantage of facing the green, meaning that golfers get the most realistic assessment.
“Usually when people have an assessment in a pro-shop, they have to shoot into a net,” Mr. Newman said.
“Hitting onto the green means we are getting a more accurate idea for their swing.”
The centre was officially opened at the beginning of the month and Mr. Newman said it is already attracting golfers from near and far.
The technology assesses both the swing of the golfer as well as the speed of the ball and even which way it spins.
And with everything caught on cameras, Mr. Newman said that it is now easier than ever for golfers to improve their technique.
With these modern facilities and easy access from the Hunter Expressway, Mr. Newman said Kurri Golf Club is continuing to go from strength to strength.
“We have definitely seen a boost since the expressway opened,” he said.
“The area is certainly a strong one for golfing enthusiasts.”
