Tuesday – Today’s Medley Stableford competition for members and visitors, with a field of 50, resulted in the following place-getters for each grade: A-grade, 1st Dave Lindsay 40 points, 2nd Raymond Hodson 38; B-grade, 1st Noel Ellenor 39, 2nd Peter Leighton 37; C-grade 1st Rick Geissler 44, 2nd Vincent Reddon 37. NTPs went to: 6th Carey Johnson, 8th Noel Ellenor, 14th Dave Lindsay, 17th Anthony Beavis. Eighteen balls were distributed down to a score of 34.
Wednesday – Ladies: Today’s ladies event, for members and visitors, with a field of 18 was a stableford round. It was also the final round of the Wednesday Ladies Knockout Competition. Winners were 1st Kathleen Radford with 37 points, 2nd Patricia Fielding with 35. Kathleen also won the KO Competition with a hard-fought victory over runner-up Maxine Canon. NTPs went to: 6th Anne Parkinson and 14th to Kathleen Radford. Veterans/Seniors: Today was round one of the Wednesday Seniors Stableford Championship for 2014. There were 39 participants. First was Chris House with 41 points. Glen Genge, Ian Hill and John Filipek, all with 38 points followed. There were a total of 16 balls distributed down to a score of 34 c/b. The next and final round of the championship will be played today.
Friday – Friday’s individual medley and 2BBB Stableford event attracted 69 members and visitors. Individual winners were: A-grade, 1st Carey Johnson 39 points, 2nd Peter Baille 36, 3rd Dave Lindsay 34. B-grade, 1st Gerald McLaughlin 38, 2nd Kevin Johns 37, 3rd James Cannon 36. C-grade, 1st Graham Newstead 39, 2nd Jeffrey Peter 36, 3rd Wayne Cardow 36 c/b. NTPs: 6th Gerald McLaughlin, 8th Wayne Currie, 14th Gregory Wyper, 17th Graham George. Twenty-five balls were distributed down to a score of 33. The 2BBB was won by Carey Johnson and Graham Newstead with 48 points. A total of eight balls were distributed down to a score of 46.
Saturday – Ladies: The ladies Stableford event, for members and visitors, fielded 19 of the 203 golfers that played at Kurri this Saturday. Winners were 1st Anne Parkinson with 38 points, 2nd Margaret Austin 36, 3rd Kathleen Radford 36 c/b. NTPs: 6th Teresa Peachey, 8th Anne Parkinson, 14th Lyn Hill, 17th Anne Parkinson. Longest drive had no winner recorded today. A total of seven balls were distributed to a score of 31 c/b. Anne Parkinson had a three. Mens: Today the men, with a field of 184 members and visitors, participated in a stroke event. This event was also the final round of the 2014 Kurri Golf Club’s Mens Championships for grades A, B and C plus Junior and Senior categories. Winners today were: Gross, A-grade Andrew Wyper with a 71, B-Grade Ben Huckstadt with 82, C-Grade Grahame Hogan with 91. Net: A-grade, 1st Colin Ford net 69, 2nd Kurt Cresswell 70, 3rd Adam Wolter 70 c/b. B-grade, 1st Dave Parkinson 70, 2nd James Cannon 71, 3rd Adam Reynolds 72. C-grade, 1st Paul Scheibel 72, 2nd Dennis Yates 73, 3rd John H1ckey 73 c/b. NTPs: a total of eight plus the jackpot went to 6th Phillip Callen; 8th, A-grade Adam Wolter, B-grade Eddie Merrick, C-grade Luke Hutchinson; 14th James Cannon; 17th A-grade Richard Ryan, B-grade Joel Carr, C-grade Luke Hutchinson. The jackpot was won by Richard Ryan. Longest drives went to Joshua Udbinac, Andrew Wyper and John Barnes. There were 66 balls distributed down to a score of 76 c/b.
Club Champions Men 2014 are: A-grade, Andrew Wyper; B-grade, Ben Huckstadt; C-grade, Brian Jones; Seniors, Raymond Hodson; junior, Joshua Stig; Dick Wilson Trophy for best scratch, Andrew Wyper; George Hawkins Trophy for best net, Ben Huckstadt; Singles KO, Craig Patton; 4BBB KO, Mal Calderwood and Darryl Jackson. Sunday – Today KGC hosted the Mandalong Coal social golf charity day with approximately 140 participants. The medley stableford event for members and visitors was postponed.
