Organised through Song Room, in partnership with the Coal & Allied Community Development Fund, the festival featured a showcase of performances in dance, drama and music along with a visual exhibition of photographs and artwork.
The event was well attended by parents, students and community members, providing an exciting opportunity to showcase the schools and communities involved in the program.
The Song Room is a national not for profit organisation that provides tailored, long-term music and arts-based programs for children in disadvantaged and high need communities.
The program has been delivering long term creative arts and community projects in primary schools across the Hunter since 2007.
