Multiple fire crews responded to a one-and-a-half hectare grass fire near the railway line at Mitchell Avenue and Railway Parade that broke out at approximately 4.45pm.
The temperatures will continue to rise this week, with some well-needed rain forecast for the weekend.
FIVE DAY FORECAST:
Wednesday: A 40 per cent chance of showers today and the temperature is predicted at 15 degrees with a maximum of 28.
Thursday: Summer is definitely on its way, with this Thursday predicted to have a maximum temperature of 37 degrees.

Sunday: Pack your umbrella because there is an 90 per cent chance of rain. The temperature is predicted to rise to 40 degrees with a minimum of 18.
