The annual event has become a tradition for Cessnock City residents and Mayor Bob Pynsent believes this year is set to be bigger and better than ever.
“The evening will start with a different flavour, with a demonstration from our local PCYC aerobics team,” he said.
“There will be free face painting and a jumping castle for the kids and plenty of great local entertainment for all ages.
“There will be hot food and drinks available for purchase, all you need to bring is your picnic blanket and chairs and your best singing voices.”
This year’s festivities have an earlier start time of 6pm to ensure younger carol-goers don’t miss Santa’s special visit. Performers include the Combined Schools Choir, Hope Valley Church Band and students from Mount View High School.
Tara Naysmith is also no stranger to the carols’ stage, and will once again be hosting the evening as MC.
Organisers are praying for good weather and hope to see the local community there to join in the festivities and fun.
The event is proudly sponsored by Newcastle Permanent Building Society and Cessnock City Council.
