The talented soccer player only made the transition to futsal a year ago but said that the sport feels like a natural progression.
After an impressive performance at the National Futsal championships in January where she competed for the Northern NSW, she was then selected for the national team.
The tour of Brazil is organised by the Australian Futsal Association, with young players from all over the country handpicked to take part.
Sophie is also currently a member of the Emerging Jets soccer team and said that she first started playing futsal as a way to develop her skills.
This will be Sophie’s first trip overseas as part of a national sporting team and she said she is looking forward to the experience.
The tour of Brazil commenced on November 21 and will wrap up on December 9.
