The event is a collaboration between the Abermain Mission Hall Church and the school, with all funds raised on the night to go towards providing facilities for the students.
Abermain Mission Hall spokesperson Sue Strickland, said that the event will be a wonderful opportunity to connect with the local community with a huge showcase of local performers.
This includes the Abermain Public School dancers, the Cessnock Community of Greater Public Schools Choir, Super Hubert, Eliza Lantry, Michael King, Annie Devine, Tara Naysmith and many, many more.
This will be the second year that the school has hosted a carol’s event, with last year’s event raising enough money for the P and C to buy new play equipment.
It also attracted over 1200 visitors and this year the organisers are hoping for 1800.
It is hoped that the money raised on the night will contribute to finishing the school’s hall.
Gates will open at 5.30pm for a 6.30pm start, at Abermain Public School in Goulburn Street.
There will also be a colourful fireworks display to close the event at 9pm.
