With the first 12 months of going to market, more than 150 home sites in Katherine’s Landing – Huntlee’s first village – were sold off-the-plan.
With demand so strong, the team at Huntlee is forging ahead, releasing the first 42 lots in precinct two at Katherine’s Landing.
Project director Stephen Thompson said there was already a great deal of interest in these sites which are adjacent to the former landing strip.
“The air strip was part of the inspiration for the name Katherine’s Landing,” Mr. Thompson said.
“The farmer who once owned the land created the landing so he could fly his plane in and out of the property.
“In homage to this part of Huntlee’s history, the five-hectare section of the ridge which formed the landing strip will be maintained as public open space to be enjoyed by residents of and visitors to Katherine’s Landing.”
The new precinct release will be celebrated on Saturday with a major family fun day onsite from 10am to 4pm.
The Huntlee team, representatives from the 17 builders who will be part of Huntlee’s first home display centre, as well as mortgage brokers, a financial institution, conveyancers and financial planners will be in attendance to offer free advice.
A special guest at the event will be Dylan Parker, the man whose story was the inspiration for the new Australian movie, Paper Planes.
Dylan will be conducting paper plane building and throwing workshops for the children (and those who are still a child at heart) between midday and 2pm.
There will also be entertainment by local band Sugar and former Australian Idol contestant Roshani Priddis; free water slides, magicians, clowns and face painters.
Food and drinks will be available.
