Police are investigating after a man stole a woman’s handbag from her car at knife-point at Neath.

The woman had stopped her vehicle on Cessnock Road, near the Metro Service Station, to take a phone call about 10am on Wednesday when a man opened the passenger-side door and produced a knife with a 20cm blade.
The man took the woman’s handbag from the passenger side of the car and left the scene.
Police said no words were exchanged between the thief and the victim during the robbery.
Central Hunter officers arrived soon after the incident and searched the area, but did not find the man.
He was described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 20s, unshaven and with either a ring or a tattoo on his hand.
