Departmental experts will be available to answer questions from students all over the country in real time from 6pm to 8pm.
“Over the last two years the department has hosted nine highly successful live Q&A events on the Student Update Facebook page, which more than 2000 students and parents attended,” Department of Human Services general manager Hank Jongen said.
“We cover topics such as Youth Allowance, Austudy and ABSTUDY payments and eligibility, the Parental Means Test and how to do business with us online.
“We also provide useful information about support, such as the Student Start-up Scholarship, Rent Assistance, Relocation Scholarship and the Low Income Health Care Card.”
Students who are not available to attend the first Q&A event can attend the next event on Wednesday, March 11 from 6pm to 8pm.
“Another great digital option the department has available for students to manage their payments is the Express Plus Centrelink app,” Mr. Jongen said.
“The app offers a simple, fast and mobile way for students to do Centrelink business on the go, at a time that is convenient for them.”
Students can keep up-to-date by ‘liking’ the Student Update Facebook page, and following @StudentUpdateAU on Twitter.
