State election candidates for the seat of Cessnock will outline their education policies at a forum organised by Cessnock Teachers Association at East Cessnock Bowling Club on Tuesday.

The forum will start at 6pm and parents, teachers and community members are invited to attend, listen to candidates and ask questions.
Cessnock Teachers Association president Phil Cooke said the upcoming state election is a crucial time for public education.
“Gonski, TAFE, school staffing, special education, quality educational facilities and infrastructure investment are crucial for the future of the Cessnock area, the State and the prosperity of our nation,” Mr. Cooke said.
“The candidates’ forum is a great opportunity for citizens of Cessnock to hear the major parties’ education policies and engage with local candidates.
NSW Teachers Federation Hunter TAFE organiser Rob Long will also be a guest speaker at the forum.
Mr. Long will outline the impact of job cuts and loss of courses in the Hunter and across the State.
