Titled “Our Town’s Got Talent”, it will start at 4pm and will feature a variety of artists from Greta/ Branxton and surrounding areas, including folk, country, ballads and popular music, magicians, bush poetry, comedians and classical piano.
This will be followed by an auction to raise money for Harry’s House including wine, gift vouchers, a painting, hampers, house hold effects, a Colts rugby league jumper, meal voucher and more.
Harry’s House is a retreat at Stockton for families with seriously ill children – a ‘home away from home’ while the child receives medical attention in Newcastle.
It is named in honour of Harry Meyn, whose great-grandfather Ted was the local policeman at Branxton for many years. After the tragic death of their son Harry in 2007, East Maitland residents David and Samantha Meyn bought the house in Stockton to be used solely for families with seriously ill children.
The money being raised will go towards the upkeep and maintenance of the house. For more information, contact Phillip Aughey on 0447 381 989 or donate through the website www.harryshouse.com.au.
