The service is coordinated by St. Paul’s Anglican Church and the Kurri RSL Sub-branch, and has been held for several years.
“As the centenary of the Anzac landing at Gallipoli approaches, we will gather to remember not only those soldiers, but the many thousands of others who followed them in all conflicts and all areas of service,” St. Paul’s priest, Father Chris Jackson said.
“We have a great relationship with the RSL, and we are proud to host this service every year.”
The preacher for the service will be Father Greg Clarke, a former Defence Force chaplain, who was deployed to the Solomon Islands during peacekeeping operations, among other postings during his tour of duty.
The service will include the parading of the colours, supported by RAAF personnel from Number 22 (City of Sydney) Squadron, RAAF Base Richmond, including former Kurri resident LAC Alexander Dyson-Smith.
A light supper will be served following the service, which will start at 6pm.
