Newly-appointed Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter and Central Coast, Scot MacDonald made his first official visit to Cessnock this week.

The Guyra-based MLC was invited by Cessnock Liberal councillors Bryce Gibson and Rod Doherty and met with the local Liberal Party branch on Monday night, and Vincent Street businesses including Cessnock Regional Art Gallery on Tuesday morning.
The position of Minister for the Hunter – previously held by new treasurer Gladys Berejiklian – has been replaced with the parliamentary secretary role, which Mr. MacDonald said is “to facilitate conversation between local regions and cabinet”.
“The Baird Government is very insistent that we deliver on our promises,” he said.
“I will be talking to council about priorities for Cessnock.”
The Frame Drive bridge was one of the issues raised with councillors Doherty and Gibson on Tuesday morning.
