Results of games at Abermain on April 15: Maitland Mid-Week Bowlers retained the shield with a winning margin of 21 points. A great day was had by all with the host club providing afternoon tea. Next week’s game will be at Greta on Wednesday, April 29. New members are made most welcome. If transport is a problem, ring Daniel Hoggan on 4990 1470.
EAST CESSNOCK WOMEN
Winners from last week’s social bowls were M. Borthwick, N. Nicholls and Y. Midwinter; R. Wood, C. Andrews and J. McKim; L. Pogonoski, R. Gargan and J. Del-Degan; C. Hallam and M. Loughrey. There will be no social bowls this Wednesday due to the 5-a-side tournament being played at ECBC. The fourth round of pennants was played last week – well done to the Grade 2 players on a narrow win against Bellbird Park and bad luck to the Grade 3 players on a loss to Beresfield.
STONEBRIDGE WOMEN
First round of major singles was held on Thursday – Robyn Thompson defeated Gabby Hope; Maureen Ling defeated Jenny Tate. Draw for tomorrow – Fay George vs Jan Parsons (marker, R. Thompson). Also social bowls at 10am. Novelty, Val Reid. Stonebridge defeated Kurri in pennants on April 14. Played away to Lorn Park yesterday, results later.

Results: Thursday, winners K. Gunther, C. Nuss; runners-up M. Dodds and B. Haggarty. No. 7 pennants had a win against East Maitland, No. 6 had a win against Dungog and No. 5 lost to Kurri. There are no pennant games this weekend owing to Anzac Day, but normal bowls on Thursday. Pennants will be played on the following Saturday (May 2) – No. 7 play Maitland City away, No. 6 play Miller Park away and No. 5 play Stonebridge at home. There are Club Championship games on board to be completed by Sunday, May 3.
