Cessnock's Anzac Day race meeting has been abandoned due to the wet weather.
ABERMAIN
8.30am – march from corner of Bathurst Street and Cessnock Road to Jeffries Park Cenotaph for service. Breakfast at Abermain Bowling Club afterwards.
BRANXTON
5.15am – Dawn service at Branxton Rotunda, John Rose Avenue.
11.15am – main march from corner of New England Highway and Elderslie Street to rotunda for service at 11.30am.
CESSNOCK
5.30am – Dawn service at Cessnock War Memorial.
9.30am – Service at Veterans Park, Aberdare.
11am – Main march to form up at Cessnock Ex-Services Club (schools form up between Peden’s Hotel and Cessnock Performing Arts Centre), march-off at 11.15am. March to proceed along Vincent Street and Cooper Street to the cenotaph for service.
GRETA
5.30am – dawn service at cenotaph.
9.30am – march from corner of Nelson Street and New England Highway to cenotaph for service.
KEARSLEY
5.30am – Dawn service (assemble at the tennis courts at 5am, march starts at 5.15am). Breakfast to follow at Kearsley Community Hall for a gold coin donation.
KURRI
5am – Dawn service at cenotaph at Rotary Park (assemble at Kurri Workers Club at 4.30am). Breakfast to follow at Kurri Workers Club at 6am; gold coin donation.
9.30am – Main march to form up at Kurri Mitre 10; fall in at 9.40am, march off at 9.45am. Service to start in Rotary Park at 10am. Lunch to follow at 12pm; tickets available from RSL sub-branch secretary Eric Keygan (RSVP by Wednesday).
MILLFIELD
5.15am – Meet at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, march to Millfield Public School for service followed by tea, coffee and toast.
NEATH
10am – service at Neath Hotel, including the lighting of the Miner’s Lamp.
PAXTON
5.10am – Meet at corner of McDonald and Anderson Avenues, march to Paxton Public School for service. Breakfast to follow at Paxton Bowling Club.
WESTON
9am – March to begin from Weston RSL Sub-Branch Hall on Cessnock Road. March will proceed along Cessnock Road; Hall, First and Station streets prior to service at cenotaph.
WOLLOMBI
5.45am – Service at Anzac Reserve, followed by breakfast at Wollombi Tavern.
