In a repeat of last year’s tournament, Cessnock East defeated Nulkaba in the girls’ final, while Nulkaba was victorious over St. Patrick’s in the boys’ final.
Miranda from Cessnock East was named most valuable player in the girls’ final with Will from Nulkaba receiving the boys’ MVP award.
The competition was held at Cessnock Civic Indoor Sports Centre on Friday, with 14 teams playing in a round robin format.
Centre manager Sophie Kleeman said it was a great day and the kids had lots of fun, some of them having never played basketball before.
“Hopefully it will bring a few more kids to the stadium,” she said.
