In an even first half, the Hawks led 12-10 at the break.
It was anybody’s game but Abermain dug deep and came out good winners.
All players deserved credit but the points went to Ricky Balcombe and Nathan Robertson (shared three points), with one to Mick Davies.
Kel Cunningham and Luke Davies also had good games.
The Hawks’ try scorers were Craig Benson, Justin Wieczorek, Shannon Harmey, Luke Davies and Ricky Balcombe, and Benson kicked three goals.
The Hawks are away to Woodberry on Saturday; kick-off is at 2.30pm.
