The manufacturer Dorel Australia recalled the car seat after it was discovered the fabric around the harness adjuster sometimes gets caught. This results in the harness becoming loose and in the case of a car accident the harness can be completely ineffective.
The car seat was removed from stores last month when it was discovered the company did not have a safety standard certification for the A4 model. It is now certified.
The A4 model recalled has three height markers on the left-hand side of the cover. If your car seat is affected, contact 1300 809 526.
The Maxi-Cosi's Euro Convertible Car Seat A2 version was also been recalled due to the same fault in the harness mechanism.
