Cessnock country music legend, the late Reg Lindsay has been inducted into the prestigious Mo Awards Hall of Fame.

The 39th annual Mo Awards were presented at Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL last Tuesday (July 28).
Named after Australian entertainer Mo McCackie, the Mo Awards recognise excellence in live performance.
There were four finalists in the Hall of Fame category, which is selected by votes from Mo members.
The award recognises the artist’s contribution to the entertainment industry and lifelong achievements in music, stage and recording.
Reg Lindsay recorded more than 65 albums, won three Golden Guitars and wrote more than 500 songs in his career. He also had two long-running television shows (the Reg Lindsay Country Hour and Reg Lindsay Country Homestead) in the 1960s and ‘70s and tasted success in the United States.
Reg and his wife Roslyn came to live in Kearsley in 1989 and established the popular Reg Lindsay Rodeo and Music Reunion in 1995. Reg passed away in 2008.
Roslyn accepted the Mo Award from Michael Hope from Hope Estate, who sponsored the Hall of Fame award.
Mrs. Lindsay said the auditorium erupted into grand applause when Reg’s name was announced as the winner.
East Cessnock Bowling Club also sponsored the Best Children’s Show category (which was a tie between Frankie Valentyn and The Party Bears).
The Reg Lindsay “Standing Tall” bronze statue at East Cessnock Bowling Club has been attracting visitors from all over Australia since it was unveiled in March.
